SERIES REVIEW: Perfect for a Hallmark movies series

These would be perfect for a Hallmark movies series.

Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2021
I enjoyed the trilogy of adventures and character building exercises. Carlos was too good to be true. Well done Flora. I grew up reading Mills and Boons and Hali Quinn romances. You did so much better The characters came alive with their quirks and flaws. I love the historical settings in St. Augustine. one of my favorite places to go especially at Christmas time when all the buildings and streets are so beautifully lit.

CAPTIVATING: Another 5-Star Review

CAPTIVATING  ★★★★★

I  have diligently followed this author for many years. I so enjoyed the first two books in the Castle In The Sun series but this third book was over the top! It kept me spellbound for a day and a half until I finished reading it Ms. Reigada has fleshed out these characters and woven a tale about friends and family and intrigue that is unsurpassed in my opinion. I can only impatiently wait for the continuing saga of these families. Well doneReviewed by Annie

ANOTHER 5-STAR REVIEW!!

FOR LOVE'S SWEETEST DELIVERANCE, CASTLE IN THE SUN, BOOK 2

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book and its characters came alive from the first chapter, in which newly engaged Liz and Carlos celebrate a romantic, white Christmas in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. But trouble follows when the couple leaves for Florida, where they plan to marry.

That trouble is Liz’s ex-husband, who stalks and harasses Liz and Carlos, every step of the way. The couple needs to fight for their love. The excellent mix of drama and romance, plus a honeymoon in an elegant Grand Canyon lodge, kept me turning the pages.

THE MAKING OF A VILLAIN

Imagine someone saying the following to you:

Liz's husband Steve looks at her with disgust as he tells her she's too fat
and her butt is too big.

"I wasted my youth on you! You've let yourself go. Look at you! I don't even want you anymore!"
That's what Steve Cavanaugh said to his wife, Liz, before leaving her for Gloria, a twenty-something plaything.
Seeing the anger in Liz's eyes, he bolts for the door as she hurls a vase at him. Barely missing his head, the vase smashes into the wall.
He mocks her. "You broke it! I was going to give that to Gloria."
This fictional scenario sets the stage for Love's Sweetest Revenge, Book 1 in my Castle in the Sun romantic-suspense series, published by MillerWords.
Although Steve has redeeming qualities, such as being a good father and provider for the twin sons he had with
Liz, he says and does many hurtful things. This continues even after Liz begins a relationship with Carlos Martín, a brilliant, sophisticated and of course, handsome Presidential aide.
But Steve just cannot bear to see Liz happy, especially with someone so accomplished.
When I started the series, I didn't expect Steve to play a major role. He was supposed to be a background character, the ex-husband referred to in passing.
As I wrote, however, Steve kept stepping out from the shadows and I realized he has an important role. He is the antagonist or villain essential to every story. He represents the challenges we need to overcome.
Who can better appreciate home's warmth than one who has struggled through cold, wind and rain? Who can better appreciate success, then one who has tasted the bitterness of failure? And who can better appreciate hearing I love you, than one who has been rejected?
Whatever or whoever the "Steves" in our lives may be, they test us, just as the character in my book tests Liz and Carlos' relationship. These people and problems can embitter us or make us flex our mental and spiritual muscles to grow stronger.
A friend who reviewed my book had her own take on Steve. "He's a control freak, wanting to manipulate Liz and Carlos like puppets on a string."
Here is what Steve said to Carlos after learning about the motorcycle accident that nearly killed him. "Too bad about the Harley. Maybe it was just too much bike for you."
So where did I get the dialogue for this character? Much of it came from my mild mannered husband, Dan, who would never dream of speaking such hateful things.
Might there be a little bit of Steve inside every one of us? Hmmm.
Meet Steve and other characters in the pages of  Love's Sweetest Revenge, first in the Castle in the Sun romantic-suspense series, then in Book 2, Love's Sweetest Deliverance and Book 3, Love's Sweetest Truth.

A TASTE OF ROMANTIC SPAIN IN FLORIDA

Here are some of the sites in historic St. Augustine, Florida, a
major setting in my Castle in the Sun romantic-suspense book series.

A castle in Florida? That's right. Built by the Spanish in 1672, it's the Castillo de San Marcos. You can take a tour.

Another view of the Castillo
and one of its grand
watchtowers.

Re-enactors help transport us back to old Spain at the Castillo.

St. Augustine is steeped in history and beauty.
Ornate buildings grace its historic district.
They include Flagler College, above right, built as the Ponce de Leon Hotel in 1888. To its left, we see part of the majestic, Cathedral Basilica.

Even St. Augustine's City Hall/Lightner Museum is ornate. Formerly the Alcazar Hotel, the architectural masterpiece was opened in 1888 by Henry Flagler.

Here we see a statue of Saint Augustine outside the historic, Cathedral Basilica, built 1793-1797.

The annual Nights of Lights holiday celebration which takes place November through January, decorates the city with millions of white lights.

Right, Grace United Methodist Church, in St. Augustine's historic district. The architectural style is Spanish renaissance Revival with Moorish elements.

Walk the quaint, narrow, "artsy" streets.

Or see it all from the comfort of a trolley,
with a tour guide explaining the sites.

And when in Florida, don't forget  a trip to the beach, to soak up the sun

How about this romantic view from the
balcony of an oceanfront condo?

You can find all this and more in St. Augustine and Florida, or you can take a virtual vacation in the pages of my Castle in the Sun romantic-suspense series, available in
paperback and e-book formats.

Check out the series!
